Why Should Individuals and Businesses Come Together to Combat Coronavirus?

Let’s-Unite-Against-Coronavirus

It’s there, and it’s serious, Coronavirus!

Therefore, as a responsible corporate citizen, Future Tran’s mission is not only to help global companies grow their business, acting as their main localization partner in the Middle East and North Africa ─ but we also have a social and ethical duty to participate in the worldwide effort to combat coronavirus, by helping to raise awareness about it.

What is coronavirus?

Coronaviruses are a family of viruses that maliciously attack the respiratory system of animals and humans. Most types of this virus infect animals, such as birds, cats, and bats, with only seven types ─ including 2019-nCoV, SARS, and MERS ─ known to infect human beings.

The coronavirus family typically affects the respiratory tract and can lead to such diseases as common cold and pneumonia.

How is coronavirus infection spreading?

The Novel Coronavirus (2019-nCoV) was first detected in Wuhan, China. Since many of the patients in the outbreak in Wuhan reportedly had some link to a large seafood and animal market, the situation, up to now, suggests an animal-to-human spread in addition to the confirmed person-to-person spread.

Where is coronavirus infection in humans spreading?

According to the World Health Organization WHO, as of early March, the total number of confirmed Corona cases is 72,469 confirmed cases in 113 countries across the world, with 2531 deaths.

Also, you can get a full report about the confirmed cases and new cases from the following report by WHO

How to protect yourself from the coronavirus?

According to WHO, the following measures should be followed to protect yourself from the coronavirus infection:

  1. You should avoid close contact with anyone who has a fever or a cough.
  2. Hands should be regularly washed, and everyone should sneeze or cough into a tissue or his/her elbow to avoid the spread of the coronavirus.
  1. For general public safety, anyone having cough, fever, and difficulty breathing should immediately consult a doctor and share his/her travel history with them.
  2. As for other viruses, such as the flu, everyone should continue to protect oneself from them simply by getting vaccinated.
  3. People should always wash their hands with soap & water and avoid touching their nose, eyes or mouth with unwashed hands

How to guard against coronavirus infection during travel and shopping?

According to risk management experts, travel helps to spread coronavirus like wildfire. However, it’s still possible for travelers to avoid almost all human contact in airports and aboard planes by the magic use of technology.

So, it’s important for travelers who plan to continue flying in the age of coronavirus to master the art of isolation by adhering to the following guidelines:

1- Keeping away from the traditional check-in desk and kiosk at the airport by checking-in for flights online. You can easily change seats and print boarding passes without dealing with any other person.

2- Using mobile applications for the boarding pass and also to make any changes without access to a computer or having to call the airline.

3- Storing items in the bag at the security checkpoint and using as few bins as possible.

4- Using virtual phone wallets or mobile banking when making purchases in the terminal.

How to practice food safety?

When it comes to the safety of food products, we should, first of all, avoid eating raw or undercooked animal products. Also, we should take care when we handle raw meat, milk or animal organs to avoid cross-contamination with uncooked foods.

More importantly, hands should be washed between handling raw and cooked food. It’s also vital to advise everyone, inside and outside afflicted areas, against eating sick animals and animals that have died of diseases.

Stay updated about Corona

As knowledge is power, people should always remain updated on Coronavirus by following a number of important websites, including:

The role of translation in such times

The translation services is a key function for all global governmental and non-governmental entities nowadays as they are working with people from around the world. Public information, reports, medical research results, and media reports need to be published in different countries in different languages. Translation can do the following:

1- Translating medical reports between hospitals and doctors from different countries who are working to share the latest results about the virus.

2- Translating media news to deliver right and accurate info and avoid fraud and spam news to stop panicking people.

3- People who are in quarantine and hospitals who might speak different languages, they need interpreters to be able to communicate. Here comes the role of over the phone interpretation (OPI) & video remote interpretation (VRI) to ensure the right communication way between doctors, nurses, and patients.
